1932

1932-Lamp-Truck

Clifford Lamp begins Lamp Construction.

1942 - 1945

Simpson-Electric-1942

Lamp was involved in major expansions at Elgin Case Factory who built bombs during World War II.

1946

After World War II Lamp Construction built prefab homes that were shipped to England to help the war torn country rebuild.

1950's

Davison-Motors-1950

In the 1950’s construction jobs turned toward commercial buildings.

1952

Clifford Lamp and other local contractors form Fox Valley General Contractors Association, a chapter organization of AGC.

1958

Built Muirhead Home, a Frank Lloyd Wright designed house.

1960's

The 1960’s saw an increase in municipal and school construction projects.

Lamp Construction becomes Lamp Incorporated

1972

Lamp Construction becomes Lamp Incorporated with the acquisition of Schmidtke & Associates, Architects. The acquisition was based upon the growing needs of our clients to provide design/build services.

1992

Water-Slides-1992

Lamp Inc. performs its first construction management project, Dundee Township Park District’s Dolphin Cove Aquatic Park.

2011

Otto-2011

The rehabilitation of Otto Engineering’s Century – old campus was completed.

2012 and Beyond

ECC-Now

Lamp Inc. manages and builds Elgin Community College’s Health Life Sciences Center.
